One day in the life of Svitlana Rudenko, editor-in-chief of Netpeak magazine Svitlana Rudenko, editor-in-chief of Netpeak magazine S. Vitlana Rudenko , editor-in-chief of Netpeak magazine How is your typical day? My normal day passes in a routine. Sometimes it's a beautiful routine: I rule, rewrite texts. It is faster to do it yourself than to ask the author: "Rewrite clearly." Often, our authors are specialists of the agency, and they have little time to choose the right words. Therefore, I rewrite a couple of paragraphs as I understood, and then leave a question in the comment to the edit: "Is everything correct?" What else do I consider a beautiful routine? layout I like to make posts in our admin, place accents using various visual effects, add illustrations. Unfortunately, no day is complete without important but boring tasks. For example, to remind the author that the deadline is near, to check "hanging" texts (the material is ready, but a comment or infographic is needed - then we wait).
There are also monotonous tasks. For example, cleaning C Level Executive List technical errors in publications. This is the uploading of hundreds of articles that contain links to no longer working resources or pages with a 404 error. From the point of view of SEO, it is not ok to leave posts with such links. Therefore, I either remove the link, or find a relevant one and replace the "bit" with an actual one. During the day, I always come across an error or a bug in some published article. This could be a ten-year-old post in which the illustrations "disappeared" after the blog was moved to a new engine. Then I go to the admin area - to the text editor - to the code... I look for a link to the illustration, save it again and upload the picture to the article. It happens that there is no picture at all, then I go to the web archive and get the pictures from there. It is boring to even describe this process, but it is an important task. I do not always find these errors myself - readers write in the comments that there are no pictures in the manual or that they cannot be viewed.
Important pleasant tasks - to praise. I try to regularly praise everyone involved in content creation. If I see that the case has reached the top in terms of views, feedback, influenced the reader's decision to leave an application for the service (we have an analytical tool that shows this), I write to the author. The post got into Google news - I inform the author about it, the article is shared in profile publics - I urgently write to Telegram, attaching the appropriate cute sticker. What else? Meetings, coordination of articles and cases, objections, anger, bargaining, despair, a few more edits, end of the working day. Your favorite services in the work of the editor? Grammar and spelling checker - LanguageTool. A great thing when the eyes get sad. I adjust pictures only in Pixlr . I also love Rounder for photos. I don't want to imagine my life without KISS (KiberInfinity's Screen Shooter).
